Brooks Mackintosh

Estate Planning Attorney

Brooks has practiced law for more than twenty years and is a member of the National Institute of Certified Estate Planners.  He works with clients to determine their needs and drafts wills, living trusts, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, and other planning documents to accomplish their goals.  He also represents executors and family members in probating wills and administering decedents’ estates.Before founding Mackintosh Law, LLC, Brooks was a senior attorney at the U.S. Department of Treasury and a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, for a total of ten years.  In both roles, he handled cases involving complex financial transactions.  He represented the United States at trial, in high-stakes negotiations, and in official delegations to Australia and South Africa.Brooks began his law practice as an attorney at Covington & Burling, a large law firm in Washington, D.C.  Immediately after law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable John D. Butzner, Jr., of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.Brooks enjoys running, biking, and volunteering with the Boy Scouts.  He lives with his wife Agnes and their two sons in Decatur.

Kristin Miller

Estate Planning Attorney

Kristin is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law and has practiced law in Georgia for more than 25 years. She enjoys working with clients to craft customized estate plans that meet their unique needs and goals. She is dedicated to helping her clients navigate the complex legal and financial issues that can arise during the estate planning process.

Before joining Mackintosh Law, Kristin spent many years working at high levels of Georgia state government. She began her career as an Assistant Attorney General, then went on to serve as an Administrative Law Judge and as the head of the legal department for a large state agency.

Kristin lives in Decatur with her husband, Mike, and their three sons and two dogs. She enjoys playing music, baking, and various forms of exercise (mainly to compensate for the baking). In her spare time, she serves on the City of Decatur Zoning Board of Appeals and volunteers at Winnona Park Elementary School.
